What’s it like to work with me?

Annabella is like a therapist for films. When I was struggling with the edit of my experimental feature film, Afterbirth, she talked me through what I was trying to do and gave honest responses to her experience of the film, identifying key places to home in and offering invaluable suggestions to achieve the best cut of the film.

Annabella is one of the best filmmakers I've ever met. With that, comes a serious gift for understanding story structure, character development, and rising action. Her feedback on my short films and feature length screenplays has improved the projects in every single conceivable way. She is one of the few fellow directors that I trust completely. And when she gives me a note, I know it needs to be prioritized. She is amazing!

I’ve turned to Schnabel Annabella for creative consultation on several occasions, especially when I needed a well-grounded external perspective during a project. She is a highly reliable professional whom I wholeheartedly recommend. I was especially grateful when she reviewed and gave feedback on a photography grant application of mine — having her professional insight was an invaluable support.

Oh, Bella is truly incredible… Beyond her versatility and talent, she’s a burst of energy with an inexhaustible creative force. She’s bold and daring, yet her thoughts are clear and well-considered. Her sense of humor is 10/10 — and she has a huge heart! I asked for her help with a grant application, and she listened attentively, generously sharing her own experiences. Not only was our conversation extremely helpful, it was also deeply inspiring — I genuinely felt that I could draw from Bella’s momentum and drive. (So much so that the whole thing ended in a winning application.)

Annabella was a great help in creating the pitch deck for my film presentation. With an inspiring visual sense, she confidently used Canva and various AI-based design tools to capture the mood and atmosphere of the project as effectively as possible. I recommend her to anyone looking for professional yet creative visual support for their film materials.

I’ve worked with Annabella several times — previously on album photography and concert recordings, and most recently I sought her advice for an art grant application. On every occasion, she has been a reliable, attentive, and inspiring collaborator. Her support and encouragement meant a great deal to me. She shows up as a true creative partner and contributes meaningfully to the development of projects with her versatile knowledge. I wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone looking for a thoughtful and sensitive artistic collaborator.

What am I working on now? Would you like to join one of my projects?

Honor Her Hands – short film, drama

This film project is about single motherhood, guilt, and love—told through the moral aftermath of a tragic accident. At its center is a mother who, on her little girl’s birthday, is forced by an unexpected tragedy to make a difficult, life-altering decision.

This modern ballad speaks not only to the vulnerability of single parents and the self-sacrifice of love, but also raises questions of ecological responsibility—about the weight of our choices and the world we leave to our children.

Production prep is complete: principal cast and key creatives are attached, and locations are secured. Flow Productions will support the film with technical equipment and post-production. If you’d like to join the project, please get in touch and help us bring this film to life! 🙂

My Little Beanstalk – feature film, romantic comedy

Panka, a nerdy thirty-something botanist, lives by science—until, during fieldwork, she falls deep into a cave where a cursed bull-creature—the first Busó—guards the last ember of a faintly flickering fairy-tale world. As she grows closer to him, she realizes that the Busó’s curse can only be broken by true love—otherwise the magic will vanish from the world with him. But will love be enough to keep magic alive in our world?

Inspired by Beauty and the Beast (Jeanne-Marie Le Prince de Beaumont, 1756): a romantic comedy steeped in Hungarian folklore and shot through with absurd humor—about fading magic, the rebirth of nature, and the power of love.

The first draft of the screenplay was a semifinalist in the Hungarian National Film Institute’s (NFI) Incubator 8.0 Program. If you’d like to join the project, please get in touch and help us bring this film to life! 🙂

This is all to be an adult? – feature film, tragicomedy

On a bunker tour, a nuclear war appears to break out—or so everyone believes, thanks to a deepfake hoax. The tour group locks itself in, but the crisis slowly tears them apart: people turn on one another, and the bunker—originally a memorial museum—gradually comes to life, manifesting their deepest fears until survival becomes the only real stake…

The film explores media manipulation and the legacy of historical trauma in the 21st century, where the line between reality and fiction blurs. The first draft of the screenplay was a semifinalist in the Hungarian National Film Institute’s (NFI) Incubator 9.0 Program. Since then, I’ve proposed the principal cast and core crew, and we’ve found the shooting location. If you’d like to join the project, please get in touch and help us bring this film to life! 🙂
